Laptop buying guide for Pinoy (Philippines)

A few question you must consider before buying a Laptop Computer.

1. A brand new or 2nd hand (already used)?
2. Which brand do you preferred?
3. What screen size?
4. For Gaming or Office work?
5. Where do i buy?
6. Who the right person do i need to call to install my software application?



Tips:

a. When buying a Laptop Computer it is highly recommended to buy a Brand new instead of 2nd hand.

b. Buying 2nd hand Laptop is a good idea, very cheap and affordable, but be sure it is in good condition and all functions are working, like power adaptor, battery, usb port, card reader, wifi, camera, touch pad and keyboards. With warranty just in case the problem occur.

c. Make a survey which brand has a good name in terms of quality products and affordable. Like Apple, Lenovo Thinkpad, HP, MSI, Asus and etc.

d. What screen size do you preferred? It depends on you on how you feel comfortable, choose from 10.1", 11.6", 13", 14", 15" or 17".

e. Usually laptop are made for people who working on the go, any where any time they can working using the mobility of the computer.

f. Buy only on authorize dealer or computer store, do an survey or canvasing for the price before buying and ask for exclusive discount.

g. It is good if you know someone who expert in computer, a trusted person where you can ask for consultation.


Basic Laptop specification you must know before buying:


  1. Brand: Apple, Lenovo, HP, MSI, Dell, Asus.
  2. Processor: Intel core i3, core i5, core i7 or AMD
  3. Memory: 4GB, 6GB or 8GB
  4. Hard Drive: 500GB, 750GB or 1TB
Note: Almost all laptop this day are come up with built-in WiFi, Web Cam, Card Reader, Bluetooth, USB Port, HDMI Port and VGA Port.

A few questions you must consider before buying a Desktop Computer.

a. When buying a Desktop Computer it is recommended to buy a New one instead of 2nd hand.

b. Buying 2nd hand computer is good because it's very cheap and affordable. But 1st you must check the computer parts inside if it's not over use for the longtime and it's all working properly with warranty, just in case the problem occur or else it might put you in a big trouble and another expenses to be made to fix the problem.

c. Branded desktop is the best, usually it last up to 5 - 7 years or even 10 years without trouble in hardware, it depends on how the user take care of his/her computer.

d. Assembled computer is good it's also much cheaper than the branded. you can choose any brand of computer parts you want and put it in a single computer unit. It is very important to consider the compatibility of every computer parts you purchase.

e. For gaming computer you need a higher processor, memory and video card.

f. Do a canvasing first on every computer store and make a price list, compare and decide. Be wise and ask for discount :).
